"I am Hovis, baby. I just want you to know. This is about where I've been and where I hope to go. I just wanna love you and be who I am. Help me forget the past and adopt this man."
If you've ever listened to Jay-Z aka Hova, you may be thinking the verse above sounds familiar. You see, before Jay-Z made it big, Hova and Hovis performed together. Unfortunately, all the fame and fortune went to Jay-Z's head and he abandoned poor Hovis even though Hovis was the one doing all of the writing. Hovis actually wrote the famous H to the izz-O, V to the izz-IS line, but sadly Jay-Z changed the last part to V to the izz-A and he erased any association with young Hovis. Poor Hovis is just a dog and didn't know anything about copyrights, so sadly he can't collect any money from Jay-Z's fortune even though Jay-Z is stealing his lyrics. Hovis is ready to move on and his priorities have changed and all he wants now is a family to love him. Given that he was used to such a hectic life, Hovis would do best with a companion that can give him a job and teach him tricks. He's incredibly smart and he absolutely loves to cuddle. Even though one dawg turned his back on Hovis, he still loves other dogs.
His goal in life is to be able to one day say, "I got 99 problems, but a forever home ain't one."
Quote: "Profess you love the Hov and I'll never let you down."

"Pretty please with Sugar on top!"
Meet Sugar, best known for her former role in the traveling circus act, Cream and Sugar. Famous for their aerial stunts and advanced tricks, the duo quickly gained a following. Sadly, Sugar was unable to perform for months. So, while she likes other dogs, it can take her a while to trust them. As they say, once bitten, twice shy.
After spending much of her life on the road, Sugar is ready for some stability in her life. As her name suggests, Sugar is very sweet and likes to gives kisses and cuddles. An expert juggler, it is common for her to throw toys to herself. Sugar also enjoys playing tug-of-war because it reminds her of her days as an acrobat. Do you need some sweetness in your life? Schnoodle (Schnauzer / Poodle)
At a very young age, Enzo experienced his first heartbreak. If you’re wondering why he has such a goofy name, it’s because when he was born he was chosen to play the part of Cosmo Kramer’s dog on the Seinfeld reunion. Out of Enzo’s litter, there was no doubt that he was the perfect dog for the part. The crazy hair on the top of his head was perfect and he was such a klutz. Much like his TV dad, Enzo had even perfected the Kramer slide. Like other celebrity kids, Enzo was taken away from his family and forced to grow up way too quickly. The cast and crew of Seinfeld became the only family he had. Sadly, after a few months of working together, the network received the bad news that the pilot episode had not done well in the test markets and the reunion series would be cancelled. With no place to go and no family to go back to, Enzo was turned into animal control. A GCSPCA foster family decided to give him a chance and quickly discovered that Enzo was going through a delayed puppyhood, but that he was also the most loving, cuddly and goofy boy. Enzo is ready to mend his broken heart and he hopes his soulmate is out there somewhere. Enzo would love his forever home to have a fenced-in backyard so he can make up for all the lost playtime.
Enzo's Goal in Life: To land the role of a lifetime...as a family pet.

"Welcome to happiness!"
Snickers was discovered at Walmart. You see, she was a greeter there. For her whole life Snickers had been an orphan and was working hard to support herself. She was a shoe-in for the position as Snickers is by far one of the happiest smiling dogs you'll ever meet! Every day her beautiful smile and sparkling personality got her so many compliments, but her dreams of finding a family to take her in just weren't coming true. One day, a lady from the Charlotte SPCA came in and was appalled that such a young girl was having to work so hard. Now Snickers is living life in foster care the way that a young dog should be and she's the official GCSPCA greeter at all of the adoption events. While this is certainly a better set of circumstances for the lovable Snickers, we know there is a forever companion out there that is missing out on all her happiness and we want to help them find her!
Snicker’s goal in life: Seeing to it that all Walmart stores have puppy treats to give out to the canine shoppers. Stickers are not good for fur!

“I get knocked down, but I get up again.”
As a former music video vixen, Molly was hired for a lot of rap videos. When she was younger, she was always getting booked for gigs due to her gorgeous looks and feminine curves. It made her feel like a million dollars to be the object of affection to so many. It was a life any girl could get used to. The male dogs were always taking her out on fancy dates and bringing her diamond studded neckwear. Sadly, her career as the sexy video vixen was short lived. Every year, there were younger females showing up trying to steal her job. At three years old, she was booked for a gig that led her into a deep dark depression. The video director wanted her to be used in the video as a bait dog for fighting and it would also involve the musician hitting her. Since her career was on its last leg and she was broke, she accepted the gig. Molly sustained terrible neck wounds that day and her spiral into depression began. Out of the blue one day, Molly received a call from her agent that Chumbawamba wanted to hire her for their Tubthumping music video. That day changed her life. The chorus to that song became her new motto in life. Her career had been revived and she eventually got to meet her role model, Pink, when she starred in her video for the song Perfect. Since her video vixen days, Molly has become a mentor to other former video vixens and now runs a support group to help them get over their fears. This is a girl that has been through so much and now wants nothing more than to find her soulmate(s). Her perfect companion will understand that even though she has old wounds, she is still a happy, normal girl that loves to cuddle especially when cuddling leads to a nice long nap.
Molly’s goal in life: To find a hammock to nap in that doesn’t flip over every time she tries to get in it!
Quote: “Pretty, pretty, please, don’t you ever make me feel, like I’m less than, less than perfect.”

Kiwi fruit: Characterized by a hard and furry skin with a sweet, soft flesh on the inside.
Kiwi’s name couldn't be more perfect. When Kiwi fell on harder times, he toughened up on the outside, but on the inside, Kiwi remained a sweet and loving boy. When Kiwi graduated from obedience school, he decided he wanted to explore the world in order to find himself. He knew he was destined for greater things. While in college, he became obsessed with the music of Jimmy Buffett after constantly hearing the songs played in bars and at frat parties. Buffett’s music has always been known for stories of adventure, lessons in relaxation and directions to paradise. Kiwi made it his mission to travel to some of these exotic places and his dream was to meet Jimmy Buffett himself somewhere along the way. He decided the best way to meet Buffett was to find Jimmy’s lost shaker of salt. What he hoped would be a journey of surfing, sailing and wasting away, turned into a journey of lies, theft and deceit. People were constantly taking advantage of the young, big-hearted boy. He crashed on many couches only to wake up and find his possessions stolen, he spent his money on several salt shakers that turned out to be knock-offs and after falling hard for a few Mexican cuties, he figured out that they were only interested in him because of the exotic destinations he would be traveling to. Poor Kiwi gave up on his dream and came to the conclusion that perhaps Margaritaville didn't really exist and that pirates didn't make the best of friends. Now, Kiwi is left with trust issues. It takes him a while to learn to trust and when he gives his heart, he only gives it to one person at a time. This hula boy at heart hopes that his lifelong love is out there somewhere and if he can find that person, perhaps he can finish his journey to that one particular harbor.
Kiwi's goal in life: I’m still looking for that lost shaker of salt!

"It's all about the Benjamins, baby!"
Everyone was astonished when the "Wolf on Wall Street" was revealed. No one could believe that this little chihuahua was responsible for so much fraud. Prosper was a young man when he became a penny stockbroker. Making all that money became addicting. Prosper had such a wonderful personality and was incredibly charming, so it was easy for him to make sales pitches and close deals. Prosper could navigate his way through any social situation. He would throw these huge lavish parties and he could certainly work a room. Men envied him, women wanted to marry him. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for his trading schemes to land him some time in jail. A GCSPCA foster decided to bail him out of his cell and she took him home to mentor him. She could tell that Prosper carried a lot of guilt for what he had done. With her mentoring, Prosper has turned a new leaf. All he cares about now is impressing people with his heart and not with his money. He would love a companion that will sit by the fire and snuggle with him. This romantic boy will surely woo you if given the chance.
His goal in life: To have Leonardo Dogcaprio play him in a movie.

"I'm pleased to meet you."
Addison ("Addi") is a four-legged master of social behavior, which led to her career as an etiquette teacher. Despite her petite stature, Addi's poise is off the charts. Her etiquette teaching has spanned from dogs to humans of all ages, so she has a comfort level that can't be surpassed.
Addi is quite proper, but she knows how to have fun, too -- although she would never demand it. Others have gone as far as calling Addi "angelic," but she's too humble to agree. Even though she is laid back, Addi knows when to dial up the snuggle factor.
Addi's goal in life is to teach old dogs new, polite tricks.

"Are you coming to get me or what?!"
Rooney is a little bitter. He spent 11 years on the road with Cheech and Chong as their companion on the road. He was there through their rise and fall. Like any dog, he was loyal and faithful. Even when the munchies kicked in and they ate all his food, Rooney never got mad. Rooney is a very positive and optimistic boy. So many of his friends had already been dumped by their owners at various animal controls, so he was just happy to still have his family. He knew he wasn't getting the best care, but he was loved and had humans to cuddle with at night. Then on one very sad day in Charlotte, Cheech and Chong told Rooney they were taking him to a local tourist attraction. Turned out that "tourist attraction" was the local animal control. Rooney was devastated that after 11 years his owners could even fathom surrendering him much less actually go through with it! The excuse they gave to the animal control employees was that they were broke. We all know where their money was going, you could smell it in the animal control lobby! Rooney thought an old man like him would never make it out alive! Thankfully, a GCSPCA foster insisted on getting him out. Rooney is so thankful for her. He loves having an actual house to go home to each night and he loves playing with his foster siblings. This old man still has a lot of pep in his step. Perhaps all those herbal remedies weren't so bad after all because this is one healthy boy!
Goal: To fight for senior citizen canine discounts.
